The AReS® Autonomous Release System by NEWTON is a compact, reusable, electro-mechanical payload release solution that quickly releases payloads from aerial delivery platforms after impact. Its highly customizable parameters1 allow for release configurations within any airdrop mission scenario, as well as ground delivery operations.

AReS® mitigates recovery team risk by decreasing de-rigging times during load recovery. The system autonomously releases lashings and suspension slings within 10 seconds, and fully enables delivery and roll-off of autonomous vehicles on countless types of terrain within multiple operational environments.

RRDAS® and ADC®, AReS® paired together create the most efficient and cost effective platform aerial delivery system available.

1 AReS also provides a programmable auxiliary output capable of timed or commanded operation for secondary operations such as obscuration or demilitarization.

QUICK INSTALLATION,
MINIMAL FOOTPRINT

Two Riggers can fully install AReS® in under 2 hours onto pre-rigged loads on 16 ft (4.9 m) platform including system checkouts.

  • Compact, reusable components: recover AReS® and reuse in future payload delivery scenarios with minimum to no maintenance required

OPERATIONAL SAFETY

AReS® is software configurable and designed for safety:

  • No pyrotechnics
  • Secure power-on mechanism: system only powers on after the load exits the aircraft or ground delivery vehicle drives away
  • Certified System: Battery & system certified through Airworthiness Review in Demonstration & Test scenarios
  • Safety Protocols: 2 layers of software + redundant hardware safeties for complete certainty

2 Default lashing release delay is 10 seconds.
3 Lashing Cutters are compatible with existing Dacron lashings (LCA Medium) as well as Type 26 suspension slings (LCA Heavy).
